Treasure Chest was established in 2005 by a group of local women with an interest in breastfeeding and in helping empower other women to breastfeed. This was after enthusiastic local health visitors and community midwives identified the need for such a group and the benefits it would hopefully bring to the local community.

We aim to promote, encourage and support breastfeeding in our local community of Haxby, a small town on the outskirts of York and its neighbouring villages and district.

We run training courses for local mothers to train as breastfeeding peer supporters in order to provide practical breastfeeding support and accurate information.

We hope our web site will serve to introduce you to the group and also to point you in the right direction to receive breastfeeding support. We welcome new members at any time, even if you do not want to be actively involved and just receive email bulletins on what is going on.
