Train to become a volunteer Peer Supporter!

Would you like to join the Treasure Chest team and help support mums to meet their breastfeeding goals?

Katherine, one of our volunteer peer supporters, said "It's so good to be able to support mums in making informed choices that are right for them.  And there's no feeling like seeing a family leave the group looking happier than when they came in!"

Being a Peer Supporter is incredibly rewarding and the training course will suit people who feel strongly about breastfeeding, who have breastfed for at least six months, and who want to help other women to breastfeed.

The course itself is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about breastfeeding and make new friends in the process. Training is given by experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultants and covers a number of breastfeeding related areas.  Click here to read our 'Frequently Asked Questions about training to become a Peer Supporter'.

Our next training course will run on Tuesdays 9:30-11:30am, from 24th September to 17th December 2019 excluding 29th October, at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Church Lane, Bishopthorpe, YO23 2QG.  Please see our information sheet for full details of the course.

You can apply for a place on this course using our online application form.  You will also need to supply us with two references using the form here.  The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday 9th September 2019.

If you have any problems with the online forms or have any more questions then please email
